REQUEST FOR DONATION
COHISS' mission is to offer
Christian-based education of both national and international standards to
children in Ghana, especially those from underprivileged and diverse background.
Due
to lack of financial support from the government of Ghana for privately-owned educational institutions, the school has not been able to extend
financial assistance to all deserving students from
economically deprived backgrounds. The school, therefore, is counting on
the generosity of donors, i.e. individuals, private and non-profit organizations, churches
and others who would step forward to support a worthy goal: educating the
young minds of the future.
Funding Goals
COHISS is working to raise
about $350,000 - $650,000 (US) to build new classrooms and permanent
residential campus, invest in computer technology and library collection
development, fund scholarships and provide program development and
operating support.
Educational and
Administrative Materials
COHISS is seeking donations of computer equipment, software and peripherals, books, library resources and administrative
supplies.
Those items include the following:
- New and used computer
workstations, preferably Pentium II and up
- Printers/scanners/fax
machines/copiers
- Computer components such
as network cards, printer cables, memory modules, keyboards, mouse,
etc.
- Projectors, VCRs, DVDs
- Books for children,
computer, science, mathematics, etc.
- Toys
- Crayons, pens, pencils
- School bus to transport
children
Sports
Materials
We are also in need of sports supplies such as soccer balls,
jerseys, table tennis boards and paddles, and basketball equipment.
Volunteering
COHISS will be grateful to have parents, alumni and community
leaders who would devote a couple of hours per week of their time and
energy to support the school in a variety of volunteer programs.
Volunteers can assist in a myriad of functions such as coaching the school
soccer team, offering computer training, assisting the Red Cross and in
special events.
