An African American College Graduate Volunteers at COHISS

Mr. Warren McKinney, a 21 year old African American college graduate of Vassar College, New York, USA, volunteered his time this summer at Call of Hope International School (COHISS) as a junior secondary school teacher.

Whiles at COHISS, Mr. McKinney taught English and Mathematics, as well as educating the students about American life and culture, and particularly that of African Americans.  He also took the opportunity to learn about the Ghanaian culture by attending many social functions and visiting many historical places of interest.

In a letter to Mr. Julius Ayimasu, the assistant headmaster of the school,  upon his return to the USA, Mr. McKinney expressed his sincere gratitude to the entire COHISS family, especially the teaching staff and students for their friendship and hospitality.  He promised to encourage his peers and associates in the USA to do the same, as he sees his visit to Ghana invaluable to his personal growth.
