Call of Hope International School (COHISS) of New Tafo came close forth (4) out of nine (9) qualifying junior secondary schools in the city-wide Kumasi Metropolitan Inter-Private Schools Quiz Competition held today at the campus of New Oxford International, Kumasi. Each school was represented by two students who were tested on their knowledge in Ghana Education Service's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE)-level English, Mathematics, General Science, Religious/ Moral Studies, Pre-Technical and Agricultural Science. Although COHISS won the respective Math and English sections of the quiz, it obtained an overall score of 96, with J. W. Montessori, Mizpa International and New Oxford scoring 120, 105 and 97 points respectively. Mr. Emmanuel Osei-Kwaku, headmaster of the school, in congratulating the school's quiz team said, "COHISS has demonstrated that we are academically competitive, considering that it competed against some of the most premier schools in the city of Kumasi, the second largest city in Ghana. Just a couple of years past, our school was not even invited to take part in any of these coveted academic competitions, much less placing close forth among elite private schools in Kumasi." He continues, "Recognizing that these students are our first JHS graduating class, I can assure everyone that they have set a very high standard of academic achievement that successive students would strive to emulate. " COHISS had earlier won two competitions to qualify for the final quiz competition. The quiz team was led by Justice Baidoo and Portia Addai. Other members include Esther Yeboah, Owusu Mireku, Alhaji Seidu, Regina Boadi and Akosua Anima Amoah.StaffIPTAITestimonialsINewsIEmploymentIFeedbackIContactI |
