COHISS candidates have as usual scored 100% in the just Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). In addition, the school's graduates gained about 90% placement rate to their first or second high schools of choice. Excited Mr. Julius Ayimasu, Assistant Managing Director of COHISS remarked, "Our strong academic showing in the BECE and excellent placement success rate of our candidates to selective senior high schools (SHS) of their choice is due to our preparation strategy.. We focused our efforts mostly on excelling in core courses such as Mathematics, English Language, Social Science and General Science. And so, although our candidates did not achieve many aggregate six (6) scores as in previous years, they did better in the courses that count most as far as placements to SHS are concerned " Mr. Stephen Gyamfi, the Managing Director of the school, commented that "COHISS has indeed proven itself as one of the most academically promising International Schools in Kumasi." He continues, " The last four (4) years have seen the school win many city and region-wide academic awards in disciplines ranging from Mathematics, Drama and Poetry, French to Science. As I have said before, our goal is not only to develop into one of the elite schools in Kumasi but to become one of the best junior high school (JHS) in the nation."
