American Travel Industry Association (TIA): www.tia.org, a Washington, DC, USA-based organization donated computer equipment and other peripherals to Call of Hope International/JHS School (COHISS) through the Computers for Africa Schools Project (CASP) non-profit organization. The computers were donated by TIA through Mr. Ted Hoch, Ms. Yang Jin and Ms. Vivian Tutu; all of Northern Virginia Training Center (NVTC), a Commonwealth of Virginia agency. As
Mr. Hoch said in one of his email correspondence to Mr. Emmanuel Osei-Kwaku, headmaster
of COHISS, "Technology is wonderful- I'm sitting in my
office in Fairfax, Virginia, USA, communicating instantaneously with you in Kumasi,
Ghana.
We're glad to be able to assist by providing resources your school
needs, and are grateful for this opportunity!" Mr. Stephen Gyamfi of an Alexandria, VA-based Global Gateway Consulting, Inc. (GGC): www.ggc-inc.com, who accepted the donation on behalf of the school thanked Mr. Hoch and Ms. Tutu, "Your generosity will help immensely as COHISS strives to develop a top-of-the-line computer lab. With this donation we will be able to provide basic computer training in email usage, Internet browsing, Microsoft office applications and hardware technologies to all students." COHISS' principal sent thank-you letters and certificates of appreciation to the donors and promised to make a productive use of the donation.Staff
