Call of Hope International Celebrates 1st Speech and Prize-Giving Day

Call of Hope International School celebrated its 1st Speech and Prize-giving day on Sunday, 15th August, 2004.  The award ceremony, which is to become an annual event, was dedicated to recognizing students for their excellent academic achievements, saluting devoted staff, and commending parents who have contributed significantly to the school's welfare.

The occasion which was chaired by Mr. Ben Mohammed, a local philanthropist and an NGO executive, was witnessed by local chiefs, business leaders, Ghana Education Service (GSE) officials, school administrators, parents and students.  Mr. Mohammed, popularly known as "Big Ben" advised parents and community leaders to work closely with the school administrators in the effective education of their children.  To show his personal commitment to education, Big Ben donated three computers, a cash amount of six million cedis, and also offered full tuition scholarships to six children ranging from nursery to JHS.

In presenting the Life-Time Visionary Award to Madam Alice Amoateng, the founder and proprietor of the school, Mr. Kofi Bietwum, the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, praised her for dedicating her life to education and community service.  Mr. Bietwum also instructed school authorities to discipline students who "flout school rules and regulations."

  • Best Employee - Mr. Julius Ayimaso (Bursar)
  • Best Teacher - Mr. Vincent Yeboah (Primary) & Mr. Seidu Moro (JHS)
  • Longest Serving Employee - Ms. Joana Fosu (Primary School Teacher)
  • Best Graduating Student - Akosua Anima Amoah
  • Most Promising Student - Justice Baidoo
  • Male Student Leadership - Alhaji Seidu
  • Female Student Leadership - Portia Addae
  • Best Contributing Parent - Alhaji Saeed Salihu
  • Merit and Service Award - Mr. Eric Asare (Business Consultant)
